Mike Beck CD
Recording Sessions

Sabin Recording - Northbrook, Illinois
Friday, August 9, 2002

This Friday evening recording session included pedal steel guitar from Jim Schiller and harmonica from Howard Levy. A memorable and productive evening! Jim's pedal steel can be heard on The Ghost of Mrs. Adler, while Howard's mellifluous harmonica appears on One Minus One.

Close-up of the fretboard of Jim Schiller's Marlen 12-string pedal steel guitar. Cool! Jim chicken pickin' on Mike's Telecaster. Though very cool, this guitar work didn't end up on the Mike Beck CD... It was incredibly hard to pick parts with so many wonderful musicians contributing! Grammy™ Award-winner Howard Levy on his custom engineered Hohner harmonica and Sennheiser 441 dynamic microphone. The AKG C12 mic (pictured in the foreground) didn't get used on this session, though it sure is purtee!

Mike looked too goofy in this picture, so he was cropped out at left. Leaves a great shot of Howard with Andy beaming over his shoulder. Both Mike and Andy were incredibly pleased with the harmonica work that Howard contributed. A true pleasure to work with.
