Todd Boyce put together a fantastic horn section for Johnny Y. Featuring himself on tenor saxophone, Patrick Newbery on trumpet and Brent Sanders on trombone, the horns complement the tune perfectly, thanks to an outstanding arrangement by Alex Hall. Todd overdubbed baritone sax on Johnny Y. and added tenor solos to The Screw and Soulshine.

Todd Boyce pulled together this horn section from players that we works with regularly in other bands. Brent Sanders, foreground. Patrick Newbery, background. Arranger Alex Hall and sax-man Todd Boyce patiently pretend to discuss a measure of the horn chart while Mike asks them to pose for a photo.
