Café The South
Zeist, Nederland
Sunday, March 23, 2003

A highly enjoyable afternoon at the clubhouse of Zeist's Confederates Motorcycle Club. Club president Ries and his guests made me feel most welcome. Special thanks to Ton for setting up the show and running sound for me! I was told that this was the first time The South ever hosted a live musical performance. Ries then told me, due to the success of the evening, this would not be the last!

Special surprise guest: A Zeist local, Brad, joined me for several songs. He's a talented guitarist and songwriter that lives in Zeist, but originally hails from Calumet City, Illinois (What are the odds!). Brad is getting married to a Dutch woman this coming Thursday, March 27, 2003. Mazal Brad and bride!

Added May 21, 2003: I just found out this week that Brad was a member of the notorious Impotent Sea Snakes! I was playing their records back in the '80s when I was a DJ on Carbondale's WIDB! Life is so strange...

The view from the stage of The South. The imminently betrothed Brad, from Calumet City, Illinois, has lived in Zeist for five years. Ton Jacobs, soundman extraordinaire! Thanks Ton for making me sound so good! Onstage with Brad on electric guitar.
